My family loves Mexican & Indian cuisines. Inspired by both cuisines , I created a fusion of Mexican taco & quesadilla with a twist of Indian flavors.

This fusion recipe consists of flavorsome Indian spiced minced chicken masala, sweet tangy yogurt salsa topping and crispy prata wrap in two Mexican styles. One bite of this delectable, refreshing wrap will keep you craving for more!

Taco & Quesadilla style chicken prata wraps with yogurt salsa

Make: 2 quesadillas and 6 tacos


10 pieces of frozen pratas (pan fried and set aside)

100g mixed pizza cheese

Minced chicken masala

  1. 500g minced chicken
  2. 1 thumbsized ginger (chopped)
  3. 6 cloves garlic (chopped)
  4. 1 red onion ( chopped very finely)
  5. 1 tsp garam masala
  6. 2 tbsps curry powder
  7. 1/2 tbsp chilli powder (optional)
  8. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 4 tbsps olive oil

Yogurt salsa

  1. 2 big tomatoes (diced)
  2. 1 cucumber (diced)
  3. 1 medium red onion (diced)
  4. 1 clove garlic (minced finely)
  5. 280g plain yogurt
  6. 2 tbsps Japanese mayonnaise
  7. A pinch of salt
  8. A dash of white pepper
  9. 1/2 tsp lemon juice


Minced chicken

  1. Blend ginger and garlic to a paste
  2. Combined well ginger garlic paste, minced chicken, spices 5-9 and a pinch of salt.
  3. Heat up olive oil in a pan on medium heat. Add onions and fry till fragrant.
  4. Add spiced minced chicken and used spatula to break up the chicken into small pieces.
  5. When the chicken is almost cooked, increase heat to medium high. Stir fry quickly till chicken is a little charred. Add salt to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and set aside.

  1. Combine well all the ingredients and chill in fridge.

  1. Place 1 tbsp cooked minced chicken masala onto the cooked prata
  2. Top with 1 tbsp mixed cheese and grill the prataΒ in a U-shapeΒ for 3-5 minutes or till the cheese melt. The prata will crisp and maintain the U-shape like a taco shell.
  3. Add 1 tbsp yogurt salsa topping and serve.

  1. Heat pan on low heat and place a cooked prata in a pan.
  2. Place 1 tbsp cooked minced chicken masala onto the cooked prata
  3. Top with 1 tbsp mixed cheese and1 tbspΒ yogurt salsa.
  4. Cover with another cooked prata and use a spatula to firmly press down onto the quesadilla for 2 minutes
  5. Use the spatula to turn the quesadilla to the other side and continue to press firmly till cheese melt.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer quesadilla to a serving plate.
  7. Cut the quesadilla into 4 quarters and serve.
